Whilst learning about God...  Who is he?  What role can he play in our lives?  Why should we explore God and Jesus?  What does knowing him mean?  Understanding that there is more to life     than...(ToysRus, Computer games, mobile     phones, Pokemon etc)  Learning about history  Discovering how people in the developing     world live their lives Friends and heroes...  Telling the bible stories through the eyes of     Macky...  But on a DVD...  In a fun and entertaining way  Bringing some of those great stories (ie     Daniel and the Lions) to life...  Helping us to learn how Jesus and his followers     lived...

Pathfinders (11yrs to 16 yrs)

The team consists of Ralph Kennington, Diana Rowlands, Hannah Sykes and Nick Nelson-Piercy who joined in November. We work in pairs rotating all weeks except Family Services. Pathfinders has approximately 18 young people who come but an average Sunday would be about 8 of them.

In September before we went back to school, Ralph organised a barbeque and games on the church green to get everyone together which was great fun.

September also saw the start of Youth Alpha run by Eileen Devenish and Hannah Sykes. The group of 12, mainly from Burbage, gelled really quickly and were very committed, turning up every week. They were then given the option of going on to be confirmed which all decided to do. The service in Salisbury Cathedral was wonderful with a brilliant selection of Sponsors including Godparents, clergy and pathfinders leaders old and new! The group plans to go on meeting monthly for fun and encouragement.

Working with the Pathfinders is such a privilege and the leaders benefit as much from being with them as we hope they do, working through the Scripture Unions 'The Grid' material.
