"The Lady Loves Jazz"
A wonderful celebration of traditional
and contemporary Jazz songs,
by Helen Barrett with John Law (piano)
and Dave Griffiths (double bass).
In the ancient church of St. Andrews,
alongside top UK jazz musicians
and creating energising new arrangements, Helen
performs a tribute to beautiful and well loved
singers and songwriters, such as Ella Fitzgerald,
Billie Holiday, Gershwin, Nina Simone, Peggy Lee
and Eva Cassidy.

Helen has performed throughout the UK with
the "Lady Loves Jazz" gaining fantastic
reviews and been singing professionally for over 10
years. Having performed in some of the most presigious
venues, Helen has also worked in both theatre and television
and had terrific success writing and performing in
her own one-woman shows.

John turned away from the life of a concert
pianist to pursue jazz and improvised music when he
was 23 and been involved in, and acclaimed for, his
work in a wide variety of jazz. He has recently completed
a year as Artist-in-Residence at Essex University,
has played at festivals worldwide and recorded nearly
30 CDs.

Dave's jazz career spans nearly 30 years,
playing alongside many well know jazz names as well
as making TV and radio appearances, including the BBC
Jazz Parade. He was tutor for 7 years on the Bristol
Jazz Workshops and recently on the Sore Fingers Easter
Week. Dave has made many appearances at UK Jazz Festivals
and currently plays bass and mandolin with legendary
singer songwriter Jim Reynolds.
