Vicar's Call to Archery Practice
What a success this was. I am sure the pictures say it all - young and old enjoyed the archery, the ambiance, the food, drink and music. After all the media attention most people around the country (and world) have now heard of Rev Mary Edwards and St Andrew's Church, Collingbourne Ducis and ancient laws!!
A Community together.

For those who did not take up the call the 21st century penalty is a contribution to the church loo!!
Toilet Update
Our new toilet is now functional!! There are a few outstanding problems (challenges really) with glazing the windows, so we have temporary boards over them. But at least if flushes and can be used. Please come and have a look - to minimise abuse, we will keep it locked when there is nothing going on in Church, but will always unlock it for you. This facility makes the building much more useful for informal meetings and drop in sessions - let us know if you want to organise something along those lines, whether for charity or just a get together.
The toilet also opens up a range of opportunities for events such as our 'Jazz at St Andrew's' evening on 23rd October - tickets will be available by the end of July either on line of from the PCC.
Just a reminder - the Ducis Parish Council provide a green wheelie bin for both burial grounds and it is usually located at the hedge between the two. Please do use it for old flowers, plants and the like from graves and monuments - it all helps to keep the two areas looking nice.
Small Children And Mums (also Dads) are always welcome to SCAMPS, this month it is on 28th July at 10.30am - play for the children, tea and coffee plus chatter for the parents then a song and a prayer.
Parish Picnic 25th July
It is that time of year again when Mary and Dick Edwards kindly open their garden and invite the Parish for a picnic after the morning family service. They provide the venue and we all bring the food to share (and a chair, if possible) and a very enjoyable relaxed time is had by all. You do not have to be at the service, though its finishing does determine the picnic starting time! If you have not been before don't miss out. |
