We are anxious to add new names to the flower rota, as several people are no longer able to do the church flowers. If you think you can do this, please contact Melanie Melsom (668389).

Designing with Shrubs

A Talk by Andrew McIndoe of Hilliers Nurseries at Ham Village Hall on Thursday 25 April 2013 at 6.30 for 7pm. In aid of All Saints' Church. Tickets £10 including wine from Nicola Buchanan-Dunlop on 01488 668846 or rdb_d@yahoo.co.uk

Ham Parish Lunch

This was held on Monday 4 June 2012 on the Village Green and was very well attended by over 200 parishioners and their families. The Queen's Jubilee gave us an excellent excuse to raise the new flag, hang out the bunting and generally celebrate together!

Open Garden Evening on Sunday 8 July 6 to 8pm

An evening opening of the beautiful garden at The Old Rectory in aid of the Church's Fabric Fund was held on Sunday 8 July courtesy of the Barings. The weather was finally kind, Wimbledon finished just in time and over 60 folk enjoyed the gardens, the family quiz & trail, plants stall, wine & canapés so many thanks to all the supporters.

Harvest Supper

This was held on Saturday 13 October 2012 in the Village Hall with a full house, heaps of food and a fiendish musical quiz ending in a rousing sing-a-long. Thanks to all the Village chefs and supporters.

Church News

The Annual Churchyard Tidy Up took place on Saturday 17th March with a record turnout of 19 pairs of willing hands who hacked, pruned, weeded, gathered and bonfired outside and dusted, swept, polished and spring cleaned inside. The grass then had its first cut of the year later in the week so everything looks very shipshape. Well done everyone!

The Annual PCC AGM took place on Friday 30 March at 7pm in the Village Hall.

Ham History Project

Robin Buchanan-Dunlop published his new book on the history of Ham on 8 December 2011 in time for all those Christmas stockings! He also gave a fascinating talk on the Village of Ham in the Middle Ages at the Hungerford Historical Association on Wednesday 28 March 2012. The book quickly sold out and has now been reprinted.

His talk, Sex and Angst in Arcadia, was about the Bloomsbury Group in Ham and was held in the Village Hall on Friday 16 November 2012. It was a sell out evening and the audience was riveted.

Contact Susie Eldridge (668495) for more info on Ham researches and help.

Ham Parish Walk

This was held on Sunday 2 September 2012 and a good turnout took the route towards Prosperous and down the new footpaths through Wansdyke Farm, ending at the pub for welcome sustenance. Thanks to Ron Forbes for organising.

Village Hall

The committee would be pleased to hear from anyone who might be interested in using the hall, which has been very well maintained.  Please contact Charmaine Dean on 668270 for information.

On that note we would be glad to hear from anyone in the village who would be interested in joining the committee. We meet only around five to six times a year, and our main responsibility, aside from keeping the hall ticking over, is to organise the annual Harvest Supper. Please ask anyone on the committee if you would like to know more. Contact Mary Davenport on 01488 668287/markandmarydavenport@gmail.com
